The main invite was letterpress printed in two colours on BJ Ball Crane’s Lettra. This beautiful tactile stock contains 100% pure cotton linters (a by-product of the cotton industry). Crane’s Letttra is a go-to premium choice for letterpress as the soft surface is perfect for achieving crisp impressions.
The internal pages of the booklet were digitally printed (using an HP Indigo), with the cover embossed and hand foiled.
The hand-stitched booklet was contour cut using a flat-bed cutter. As the judges at Pride In Print acknowledged, ‘This job is full of technical difficulties across four different pieces of artwork… combining digital and letterpress printing, light debossing, die-cuts, foiling, hand-stitching and more!’.
Of particular note was the challenge of printing the envelope. It has an image on both sides of the paper that needed to align seamlessly when open and closed. Note, the envelope also features genuine vintage American postage stamps. Achieving such a high level of finish required significant print testing and adjustments—the result, award-winning.
